Paul's charge to us in Romans 13:8 to owe nothing but love is a mighty reminder of God's aversion for all varieties of debt that are not being paid off in a punctual mode (see also Psalm 37:21). Simultaneously, the Christian Bible doesn't expressly command against every kind of debt. The Holy Scripture discourages against debt, and proclaims the merit of not entering debt, but does not prohibit debt. The Christian Bible bears harsh words of conviction for lenders who mistreat those who are adhered to them in debt, but it doesn't condemn the debtor.
